How did Mandy Moore Get Started in Acting?


On April 10, 1984, Amanda Leigh Moore was born in Nashua, New Hampshire. Moore, a Florida native who is the daughter of an airline pilot and a former news writer, was reared outside of Orlando. When she was six years old, a performance of the musical Guys and Dolls prompted her to start singing. At sporting events, where she gave some of her earliest public performances, she earned the moniker “The National Anthem Girl” for her many renditions of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

When Moore was just 13 years old, she had her first significant break. A FedEx delivery driver overheard her singing during a demo recording session. When she was still a student at Orlando’s Bishop Moore High School, this individual gave her tape to a friend at Sony Music, and she finally won a deal with Sony’s Epic Records label.

Critical praise for her performance in the film helped to establish her reputation in the entertainment world. Her breakthrough performances also include in the comedies The Princess Diaries as the snarky Lana. She also sang while playing these roles and others.

With the romantic comedy How to Deal and Chasing Liberty, Moore resumed her entry into the world of major motion pictures. But in the satirical religious comedy Saved!, she truly displayed her acting prowess. in which she portrayed Christian school student Hilary Faye. Moore recently stated on Instagram that she had “the BEST time ever making this movie.”

Other Projects and Collaborations

Mandy has also worked with a number of other musicians, including as John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Demi Lovato, and Kelly Clarkson. They were nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals for their performance of John Legend’s song “Overload” together.

Tangled (2010), the blockbuster Disney animated film, was a huge success for Moore. She provided the voice for Rapunzel, the title character, which also made use of her singing abilities. Moore released “In Real Life,” the lead song off her next album of the same name, two years after the release of Silver Landings. She also disclosed the June and July dates for the In Real Life Tour.

Moore wed musician Taylor Goldsmith in a quiet garden wedding in Los Angeles on November 18, 2018. Since the middle of 2015, the two have been dating after Moore posted on Instagram that she liked Goldsmith’s band, Dawes. The couple shared the news that they were expecting their first child in September 2020. In February 2021, their son August Harrison was born. Ryan Adams, a musician, and Moore were previously wed from 2009 to 2015. Additionally, she dated professional tennis player Andy Roddick, actors Wilmer Valderrama and Zach Braff, and others.
